- In 1925 a Tennessee teacher, John Scopes
-was put on trial for teaching evolution.
- Scopes was found guilty.
- This trial was all over the media.
Prohibition:
- Prohibits alcohol & drinking
- Sale of alcohol was illegal
- Bootleggers
Flappers:
- They were a "New Breed" of women
-Women who had short hairstyles
- They wore some really short dresses
- Wore some revealing outfits
- showed their gams
- some smoked
- Showed way too much cleavage
-They wore a whole lot of make-up
- They were engaged in the nightlife
- Most of them were western, single, middle class women
- They were found at speakeasies
